Day Twenty Six Saturday 9th June 2007

Forecast for today: Saturday
Fine apart from a little early drizzle in the southern and western suburbs.
Cloudy periods with moderate southeasterly wind.

Precis: Becoming fine.
City: Min 9 Max 15

Once again little riding today, actually no riding today. Had to drive a bit, we an have overseas student staying with us and only way to get him was in the car. Our airport does not have any substantial public transport links. There is one bus that travels to it and it is a private enterprise as far as I know, which means it is a separate ticket to get out to the airport and back. There is no train, no tram. Infrastructure is built around the car, with a toll way connecting the airport to the city.

We managed a family outing by public transport and walking. The weekend seems to be the time when it is hardest to be car free. This is only in so much as taking the whole family places or running errands. Maybe that trailer would make a difference? Or maybe I need a velomobile with plenty of room for shopping and a small passenger!

More exciting updates to come soon.
